October newsletter – 2023

Catch up with the latest news from Rose Hill Junior Youth club, and look back at some of the activities we did this month!

JYC sessions

This month, we made pitta pizzas and flapjacks, played lots of fun games, danced, made collages, recycled crafts and lanterns!

We also started our junior allotment sessions and harvested some giant potatoes!

Take a look at some photographs in our slideshow and our highlights video below.

JYC sessions will return after half term on Wednesday 8th & Thursday 9th November.

Lantern making

We have now started the lantern building workshops at our youth club sessions!

All of the lanterns we make at youth club will be displayed at our upcoming Creative Lights Festival in November.

We are also hosting a special lantern making session for families on Wednesday 1st November, from 3pm-5pm. Read more by clicking the button below:

Creative Lights Festival: Wondrous Whale Walk

Saturday 18th November, 2pm-5:30pm at Rose Hill Community centre

A magical mix of lanterns, lights, special effects, animation and free local craft workshops around the theme of water, whales and the impact of plastics on our oceans and rivers.

Join us all for the finale lantern parade and celebrate the fantastic whale and fish light sculptures – built using willow and recycled plastic!

Dancing in the streets to the rhythm and beat of brass band ‘Horns of Plenty’!

Brought to you by Rose Hill Junior Youth Club and Film Oxford with the support of City Farm, local artists, schools and community groups. More information coming soon!
