Saturday 14th November
Come along on Saturday 14th November for Creative Lights Festival: Fantastic Fiction, a magical day of creativity, community and celebration as part of Oxford’s Christmas Lights Festival.
Families and young people are invited to take part in a range of free creative activities inspired by the world of books, stories, imagination and fictional adventures.
Indoor activities will take place between 2pm-4:30pm, with a free community meal served from 4.00pm, offering opportunities to get creative, make lanterns, and enjoy time together with friends, family and neighbours.
As darkness falls, the festival will culminate in a vibrant lantern parade around the Rose Hill estate, showcasing the fantastic lanterns created by local young people and families. The parade will feature both small hand-held lanterns and spectacular large-scale illuminated creations, accompanied by a live band, bringing colour, music and storytelling to the streets of Rose Hill.
Bring your lanterns and join us outside Rose Hill Community Centre from 4.30pm as we gather for the parade, which will depart at 5.00pm and process around the Rose Hill estate.
This event is a joint project between Rose Hill Junior Youth Club, Film Oxford and Rose Hill Community Centre, working together to bring local people of all ages together through creativity, storytelling and celebration.
Free and open to all. Come and help light up Rose Hill with Fantastic Fiction!
All CLF activities are supported by: The National Lottery Community Fund, Oxford City Council, Oxfordshire Community Foundation, Rose Hill Community Centre, and Rose Hill & Iffley Low Carbon.
