Could you help us to find a home for our large free-standing polar bear structure?
Our polar bear was made by children from Rose Hill Junior youth club, supported by Film Oxford and local artist, Mani!
The bear was originally created through our partnership project with Film Oxford.
Thanks to funding from Oxford City Council, we were able to provide creative workshops for children and young people, which included lantern making.
As well as the workshops, RHJYC & Film Oxford hosted an event for the wider community called, ‘The Creative Lights Festival’.
The event was held in November 2022, and ran alongside other citywide Christmas Lights Festival celebrations.
The Creative Lights Festival offered free digital and creative activities for families to enjoy at Rose Hill Community centre. You can read more about our festival here.
At the end of the event, families gathered to take part in a community lantern parade, which featured a ‘polar’ theme.
The polar bears created by RHJYC took centre stage and travelled brightly through the streets of Rose Hill.
Unfortunately, due to lack of space, we are unable to permanently keep our large polar bear at the centre.
We would love for it to be rehomed or even go on tour across schools, organisations, venues and projects!
